Parish Hall Complex

Parish Hall Complex
In the 1950s the town of Preston was adding significant new housing estates in Fulwood within the south of the parish.  The energetic dedication of and fund raising by parishioners resulted in the construction of a large parish hall on a site between Northway and Broadway. On the 7th of December 1958, the new dual purpose Parish Hall and Chapel was opened. From 1962, when St. John Baptist had its first assistant curate, Family Communion services were held in St. Martin’s Chapel each Sunday.

The Parish Hall is a hive of activity – used by the parish and wider community each and every day.  There are two Hall Managers employed to organise the 25 external lettings as well as the many church groups and functions held there.

  • The Hall Players
  • The Bowling Club
  • Licensed social club
  • Numerous other groups serving all ages enjoy the spacious accommodation and grounds.
  • Christmas Fairs
  • Horticultural Society shows
  • Plays
  • Suppers
  • Meetings
  • Courses and lectures are catered for.

A Guide Hut was also built next door along with a generous car park. Each Friday and Sunday services are held at St. Martin’s and there is a  Sunday School.

Booking enquiries can be made by telephoning Eric Hodgson Hall Manager on 01772 716040 between 0800 – 1200 Monday to Friday
