Broughton parish serves an area with a growing population. As well as ministering to the whole community through its services, St. John Baptist Parish Hall complex located on Broadway, Fulwood, is utilised by the community for activities for all ages.
The parish takes an active part in the Preston Deanery Synod and has close ties with Blackburn Cathedral and Blackburn Diocese. It is an active member of Churches Together in Fulwood and Broughton (CTFB) which welcomes newcomers to the area, distributes 12,000 Christmas cards and Easter leaflets detailing all of the services in the various neighbourhood churches, staffs an Information Desk at Royal Preston Hospital, and hosts joint services, courses and house groups. CTFB includes 3 Anglican, 3 Roman Catholic, 1 United Reformed and 1 Methodist churches.
There is a licensed social club, St. John Baptist Church Club. It is managed by the Club Committee, established when the Parish Hall complex was built.

The Hall Players, www.hallplayers.org.uk, has made use of the main hall and stage facilities to produce plays for 52 seasons. Refer to their website for current productions.
There is a Bowling Club with an excellent lawn bowling green behind the Parish Hall.
A Mother and Toddler Club, Little Fishes Toddlers Group, takes place weekly.
Twenty-five external lettings for ballet classes and other community activities are hosted weekly.
Public events such as the Horticultural Show, Christmas Fair, dinners and concerts take place in the Hall.
Two Hall Managers with assistance from parish volunteers organise the bookings for the Parish Hall.

The parish is served by a host of volunteers who give of their time to ensure that all premises are kept to a high standard, the churches and chapels are welcoming, and that the parish serves Broughton and Fulwood well.

Broughton St. John Baptist is a Fair Trade parish and raises funds for Traidcraft.
